PROJECT UPDATE: Lawrence Hope Squad

Lawrence Hope Squad, a group of students and faculty who are trained to support students in need of someone with whom to talk.

An FEF mini-grant provided funds to purchase tee-shirts for the Lawrence Hope Squad, a group of students and faculty who are trained to support students in need of someone with whom to talk. Hope Squad is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention program where the Hope Squad student “advisors” are nominated by their peers and trained.  They meet regularly to discuss mental health issues (including signs of distress) and to implement school-wide activities to reduce the stigma.

Special thanks to Amir Zaineh and Amanda Sample, FEF Grantees.

FEF mini-grants are for unanticipated needs, up to $350. Grant applications are available on the FEF Website

Applications are reviewed regularly throughout the school year.
